Fire Marshal Inspection Services

The staff can conduct and/or supervise the inspection of structures and conduct technical inspections for compliance with the ICC Fire Code, the ICC Property Maintenance Code and other NFPA Publications and Life Safety Codes; issue compliance notices and citations, initiate prosecution of offenders; issue permits for storage and use of hazardous or flammable materials.

Public Safety Programs

The staff can assist in the development and administration of the township’s fire prevention and public safety program and assist the Emergency Management Coordinator with the preparation and maintenance of operation plans and operating procedures. In addition, the Fire Marshal can assist with planning and implementing training programs and response drills and exercises. In association with this, the staff can order and witness periodic fire drills in schools, public buildings, nursing homes and other structures through-out the community.

Emergency Response / Fire Investigation

In association with serving as the appointed fire marshal, the staff of Keystone Municipal Services, Inc. can make every effort to be available twenty four (24) hours for emergency response. This staff can respond to serious fire calls and assist the Fire Chief and The State Police Fire Marshal with on-site fire cause determinations and assist with the collection of evidence; interviewing of witnesses and suspects; review insurance and bank records; assist with the coordination and preparation of criminal cases with law enforcement agencies and make court appearances and provide testimony.

 

In addition, the staff can perform the standard record keeping, tracking and report filing for all fire events according to the applicable federal, state and local guidelines.
